This episode is a repost of Season One Episode 3 about the characters in the Nativity. I love it still so here it is again! Enjoy.
This episode correlates with the week of January 14-20, 2019 i n the Come Follow Me manual. “We Have Come to Worship Him.” In this podcast, I ramble on about all the great things that have happened this last week and talk more in-depth about the Christmas story and nativity from Luke 2 and Matthew 2. I talk about all the different people who took part in that miraculous event and share a little tidbit I learned about swaddling clothes. I reference a talk by Marvin J. Ashton. I discuss different ways that people feel the spirit and then talk about how to help protect our families. I also make fun of my brother for not being able to exaggerate and throw my aunts under the bus for leaving me at the airport when I was 5.
Thank you for this episode!!! Two things that really stood out to me. One, thank you for justifying my laziness last January (till now!) 🤣🤣. I totally left my willow tree nativity out ALL FLIPPING YEAR! Now I know why, I was just celebrating the Wise Men in June! 😆.
Secondly, as I was listening to you share about your dad, I paid attention to what cancer he had. I knew he had passed from cancer, but I never knew what kind. I had colon cancer 14 years ago. I shouldn’t have lived, but I was granted my greatest desire. (I was 32, my 4 babies ranged in age from 10 months to 7). I was gently reminded by the spirit how blessed I am to still be here. I had a particularly rough, non sleeping night worrying about my youngest (age 14) and that gentle reminder brought on by your words gave me comfort. Thank you. God bless you.
My daughters directed me to your podcast when we studying the Book of Mormon so I missed this podcast. Thank you for reposting it. It was just what I needed to help me slow down from the hustle and bustle of preparing for Christmas and turn to contemplating the miracle of his birth, life, and death and what that has brought to my life. I love how you put yourself in each person’s place in the story and speak about how you may have reacted. It brings it to life.
