Episode 9 – Genesis 37–41 “The Lord Was with Joseph”

This episode is about Joseph and his adventures in Egypt.

From the manual:

Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Life teaches us that lesson clearly, and so does the life of Joseph, the son of Jacob. He was heir to the covenant God had made with his fathers, but he was hated by his brothers and sold into slavery. He refused to compromise his integrity when approached by Potiphar’s wife and so was cast into prison. It seemed that the more faithful he was, the more hardship he faced. But all this adversity was not a sign of God’s disapproval. In fact, through it all, “the Lord was with him” (Genesis 39:3). Joseph’s life was a manifestation of this important truth: God will not forsake us. “Following the Savior will not remove all of your trials,” President Dieter F. Uchtdorf taught. “However, it will remove the barriers between you and the help your Heavenly Father wants to give you. God will be with you” (“A Yearning for Home,” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2017, 22).

  1. This is the first time that I’ve heard your podcast. I just googled podcasts from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and there were many choices, however I wanted one that followed the Come Follow Me lessons. I like your style, I like that you are genuine and it feels like I’m spending time with a friend! I will continue to listen to your Podcast. You brought out some things that I had not thought about as I studied this lesson on my own. May the Lord continue to bless you for being an instrument of joy and knowledge in my life and many others, I’m sure.

    Thank You!!

  2. Melanie! I have left a review on iTunes a long time ago, and I have edited it at least once with a new review. I don’t know if you can see the new ones when I change it, but basically you can only review a podcast one time and then you have to edit it whenever you want to change or update it.

So, when I was listening today, I realized I could leave a comment for EVERY Episode if I came to your website (duh). I guess I could also comment on Instagram. But anyway, since I know how much this means to you, I wanted to leave a comment and tell you how much I loved this episode (and really, every single one).

You’re gonna be shocked, but in my 36+ years, I have never seen “Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat.” If I can find a way to stream it, I am totally watching it this week after your trailer/podcast/sneak peek. Hahaha! I love it when you break into song…

I’m also so happy about your son’s experience! (I don’t know if people who haven’t listened to the podcast yet will read this, so I don’t wanna give any spoilers, but if you’re reading this and you haven’t listened yet, what are you waiting for?)
