This is the first podcast after being gone for the last few months. I learned some important lessons about being complacent and the importance of always striving to have the spirit with us and to seek after Christ’s love and direction.
Here is a link to the article from Joanna Gaines called, “A Note from Jo on Patience.”
Here is the talk from Elder McKay about those who see messengers from heaven are often repenting when it happens. It really moved me.
Here is the talk from Elder Alvarado. Please don’t just listen. You have to watch him. He’s the best!
Here is the talk from President Nelson and a copy of iphone wallpaper I made for my phone in case you want to use it. My phone is ancient, so I hope it fits yours.

Let me know your thoughts and say lots of nice things in the comments.
Love you people! I’ve missed you.
So grateful to have you back! I was SO excited this morning when I saw that you had a new episode! Yay!
I love all of your podcasts and I do go back and listen to them again. I have your book both in print and audible. I love all of your ideas for how you would like to take the podcast forward. I love your interviews with other people. I love when you give your insight into the scriptures because my mind is very literal and I don’t see symbolism in anything and I have a difficult time applying the scriptures to my life even though I love them. So I really love to see how you apply the scriptures in your life. Your testimony and love of the Scriptures just comes through , so strongly, and it helps strengthen me.
Thank you Stacey!!
Melanie, I am so glad you are back! My daughter sent me the link to your podcast a little over a year ago. She also gave me your book as a Christmas present. I love it!! I have loved listening to you share so many experiences along with your sweet testimony. You are a light shining brightly. I look forward to hearing from you again and hearing you tell me to”shine on”.
Much love and many thanks,
Diane
Thanks Diane! I love that you loved the book too. Thanks for taking the time to tell me. Shine on!!
Welcome back. I missed you. You have helped me grow. I and most of my 10 kids are, as my middle daughter say, “neurodivergent.” You make a lot of sense to us and we are glad we found you this year. I was concerned for you when you took a hiatus, and not just for my selfish needs. I’m reading D. Kelly Ogden’s book about 8 Mighty Changes and under “What is ‘Mighty Prayer’?”, he tells of getting off his knees and looking at his missionaries’ pictures and information and prayed for each one individually. He also tells of keeping a notepad nearby to write down any revelations that came to him during his prayers. It made me think of you.
I have a long, personal, uplifting story of how I met my wife. If you are interested, let me know.
I’m glad my “neurodivergent” or “busy” brain is relatable to your family. We get each other, for sure. And yes, email me your story at melaniewstroud@gmail.com
Thank you for mentioning how you’ve enjoyed listening to that catholic preacher,. I am right there with you there is so much we can learn from each other especially as other Christian’s really know their Bible stuff. I have been listening to Christy Wright she is such a strong woman of faith and the relationship she has with God through his word has truly made an impact on my life. She was also looking for guests on her podcast and this is really funny, but I mentioned that she should have you come on her show because they really know the Bible and you really know the book of Mormon and we believe in both and it would be neat to hear the two of you together on your podcast or her Thank you for all the way your podcast has helped me through difficult times too, and I pray that you will continue to receive the help you need through the struggles you’re facing at this time.
I’m so grateful to have you back. You truly are the sunshine on the dark days. I can turn on any of your podcast and know things are going to be ok. Thank you!
That made water come out of my eyes.
Melanie, I stumbled across your podcast not long before you took a break! I thought I had scored so big!. I absolutely know I’m supposed to do better at reading my scriptures and praying, and your Book of Mormon episodes have helped get those words into my life, and helped motivate me to do better. It was a terrible moment for me when I heard you say you were taking a break. I went back and listened to old ones, but I’m so excited to hear new stuff! I would love if you would continue along with the Come Follow Me, but add your own insight and discoveries. I love that! (I need a podcast that goes with the church curriculum , and I really can’t find another podcast that I like nearly as much!) Please don’t stop making me laugh, cry, and learn with you ever again! Teri
Thanks Teri! I won’t stop making you laugh and cry for the foreseeable future…
Hi Melanie! I listened to your come back podcast last week. I’m so happy you are back. I’m a big fan. I think your idea to move on to other things like interviews and conference talks is awesome. Don’t limit yourself. We love you! ❤️
This podcast started with you teaching us your daily scripture study. Keep doing that, whatever your scripture study may be.
I love how you discuss how to live the principles learned in Come Follow Me weekly lessons. I have missed your stories. I also love the interviews that you do and how others are living the principles learned in Come Follow Me. Welcome Back!
PS You asked for past memes that you had posted … I framed your “Keep your foot in the temple and your face in the Book of Mormon”. Love it.
We are so glad you are back! You asked for takeaways moving forward and how we would like your format to look. Our family listens to you in the car every week. We are all converts and appreciate, and frankly, rely on your Come Follow Me lessons. Please don’t stop your lessons and instruction. I know you have a life and I know there is so much great material out there. Honestly if you did your Come Follow Me lessons on Mondays and a quick additional conference talk or interview on Wednesdays we would love it!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback.
I’m going to try to get ahead for next year so they can come out on Mondays. Ha ha. I’ve been trying for 6 years, we’ll see how successful I can be.
